Climate Resilience and Sustainable Development in Small Island Developing States

Host: International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF)
Location: Side Event Room 10 - Dort Assembly Hall

While enhancing island resilience is vital, a one-size-fits-all climate resilience strategy does not exist. The Small Island Developing States (SIDS) face a plethora of challenges, including sparse population, lack of resources, and undiversified economic production, which only exacerbate their struggles against climate change and natural disasters. In this side event, you will hear directly from the SIDS representatives on the clear and present dangers threatening the islands, and the best practices for small island countries to combat climate change and pursue a more resilient and sustainable future, from various perspectives including the ODA agencies, governments and the private sector.
