This will be a joint side event hosted by USAID and SPREP to highlight the impacts of ocean plastics pollution in island nations and collaborations to develop locally appropriate solutions. SPREP and its members will emphasize the Pacific Regional Declaration to address Plastic Pollution and its implications, and USAID alongside international partners will announce a global flagship program helping small island nations and rapidly urbanizing communities to combat ocean plastic pollution and climate change, engage youth, and empower vulnerable and indigenous populations.
