The Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework negotiations are a critical forum to maintain the urgency and visibility for coral reefs. This side event will focus on the twin crises of climate change and biodiversity loss that have brought into stark relief the need for greater collaboration and action at the international level to conserve, manage, and restore coral reefs. We will launch a new agenda for coral reef conservation based on the latest science and innovation, highlighting commitments in Pacific action, sustainable finance, and 30×30 that can ensure the critical role of coral reefs in climate, conservation, and community outcomes. This side event will strengthen partnerships between funders, governments, and NGOs to achieve global wins for coral reefs in the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework.
